The Beginning

MKD Electric was established in 1994 as a merit shop industrial electrical contractor. It all began with one client, one vehicle and a few tools. The word of MKD Electric's reputation for exceptional safety, quality, customer service, and value soon spread; resulting in a rapid expansion of our client base in Chicago and beyond. Since MKD Electric's introduction we have established relationships and excelled in a variety of industries including: the corn milling, chemical, petrochemical, steel, food processing, manufacturing, commercial, and institutional environments. The Late 90's

In the late 90's, MKD Electric continued its successful growth by sticking to its core values of safety, quality, customer service, and value for its clients. As each year passed, MKD Electric added larger and more complex customers to its client list. This growth also shed light on new opportunities that MKD Electric took into year 2000.

2000's

Since the 90's, many changes have taken place including the development of a substantial safety program, the hiring of a full time safety manager, a full time trainer, an apprenticeship program, a leadership program, and an asset management program. All of which, have helped make MKD Electric a safer, higher quality and a leaner electrical contractor. In addition to these successful programs, MKD Electric started to tackle large scale electrical capital improvement projects, and started to offer maintenance agreements for plant electrical and instrumentation maintenance.

Additionally, because of MKD Electric's experience and exhaustive efforts in hiring high quality team members, MKD Electric started to offer other specialty electrical contracting services. These services include: a 24/7 electrical service department, High Voltage Work, Instrumentation, and the start up of another company called Wesa Automation. Wesa Automation is a UL industrial control panel fabricator and systems integrator. This in turn allowed MKD Electric to not only give exceptionally safe, quality, and valuable work but, it has allowed MKD Electric's customers to have a turnkey solution when choosing an electrical contractor for their upcoming projects.
