MKD’s First Annual Vendor Day a Success!

MKD Electric hosted its first annual Vendor Day on Tuesday, June 14, at our Elgin HQ. Representatives from MDA and Make-A-Wish presented information about how donations help enable research, provide care to children with muscular diseases, or grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Real Lives. Real Impact.

Two families who have been directly impacted by MDA and/or Make-A-Wish shared their experiences with us. Hearing how their lives were changed by having a wish granted or using services provided by MDA was very moving.

We’ll be honest, there weren’t very many dry eyes after Elena, our Make-A-Wish mom, described how her daughter’s first wish was to be cured of her disease. After her wish of going to Disney World was granted, they were able to focus on more than their daughter’s illness. They enjoyed a trip that they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to afford, because little Maria’s medication cost over $4,000 a month.

Marty, MDA’s State Ambassador Ryan’s dad, described the services and treatment made available to his son through MDA. Ryan is currently involved in a clinical trial for medicine that will enable to keep walking as long as possible. Marty was very proud to say that his son will be walking into high school next year, something they didn’t think would be possible because of his neuromuscular disease. Research conducted by MDA is helping to make this a reality for kids across the country.

It’s these types stories that make us proud to help in any way we can. We’re thrilled to say that, to date, we have raised almost $12,000 for MDA and Make-A-Wish!

Let’s Keep the Momentum Going!

We invite you to join our efforts to support young people with debilitating or life-threatening illnesses by making a thoughtful contribution to MDA and/or Make-A-Wish. Both organizations are exempt under Section 501(c)(3), making your gift tax deductible.
