Life Safety/Fire Alarm System Tax Deductions

Revisions to Section 179 of the tax code have made it easier and more affordable than ever to purchase and install crucial life safety and fire alarm systems for your business. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act includes significant changes to the US tax code which allow for businesses to deduct the entire purchase price of non-residential building improvements for the current tax year (up to $1,000,000). Fire protection and alarm systems, including sensing devices, audible alarms, and heat and smoke detection devices, are considered qualifying building improvement purchases. Businesses are able to purchase new and upgraded safety systems, including fire protection systems and alarms, and immediately deduct the cost in full. Restrictions apply.
