MKD Electric is pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Diamond Level STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) for 2018 from Associated Builders and Contractors. This is the highest level available to STEP participants. This is the second year in a row that MKD has been awarded the Diamond Level. Previously, MKD had been awarded the Platinum Level (2015-2016, 2005-2012) and Gold (2014).
In order to qualify for the Diamond Level, our safety data had to meet rigorous requirements, including our Total Recordable Incident Rate falling at least 50% below our NAICS code average, an EMR of 0.7 (MKD’s 2018 EMR is 0.68), as well as achieving a high score on 20 key components of our safety program.
About ABC STEP
Established in 1989, ABC’s Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 20 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incident rates.
