MKD Electric is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Three Rivers Manufacturers’ Association (TRMA) Award for Meritorious Performance for High-Risk Work and Gold Awards based on our safety performance while working at TRMA facilities during 2018. We received the Award for Meritorious Performance for High-Risk Work in recognition of working at TRMA facilities without an OSHA recordable injury in 2018. Only contractor companies performing work judged as high risk (fabrication, installation, construction, etc.) are eligible for this award. We were also presented with the Gold Award for decreasing our OSHA recordable incident rate by 25% compared to the previous three years.  The awards were presented at TRMA’s Annual Dinner Meeting at the Clarion Hotel in Joliet on March 19, 2019.

Monica Mainland, Chair, TRMA Board Member and Refinery Manager, ExxonMobil Joliet Refinery, said of the TRMA awards, “Many TRMA companies worked the entire year of 2018 without an incident, and that’s something to be very proud of. TRMA contractors have driven down their OSHA recordable incident rates to the lowest in the country. We can all be extremely proud of those results.”

According to the presenting company, “MKD leadership consistently demonstrates self-reporting of losses and near-losses. Their keen eye for identifying improvement opportunities has advanced their performance and has provided for a safer work environment. The MKD team embraces our safety culture and drives those expectations through their workforce, resulting in an incident-free work environment.”
